Documents		My reflections during the Covid Pandemic 2020 on the Grandparents I never knew. Back to the grandparents I never met. My grandmother Ella Bolton Moore was said to have been born in “Indian Territory”, I haven’t found a birth certificate for Grandma Ella, but over time “Indian Territory” would have many meanings. However, I did find Ella and William’s marriage documents. The marriage documents provide the confirmation of my mother’s story that William Moore was born William Gordon, and when given a chance he changed his last name to make it easier for his siblings to find him.

Histories		Library of Congress Collection of images provided by W. E. B. DuBois of Black Life in 1900. My father Albert Moore was born around 1898, so this is the world that William and Ella brought him into. These images are fascinating. I am especially interested in the infographics; who knew W.E. B. DuBois was a data hack!

William Johnson Moore (8)
William Johnson (Gordon) Moore was one of the main reasons I do genealogy. Growing up a picture of him and my grandmother Ella sat on a bookcase in our upstairs hall. That photo was lost in a house fire. The only image of them is in my mind.
